   Payday loans are short term loans that you borrow against your paycheck. This is how they work:
   You walk into a payday loan center and want to borrow, $ 200.00,.
   You fill out an application, detailing your employment information, and how often you get paid, plus when you will get your next paycheck.
   You then give them a voided check which ofcourse has your banking information and the payday lender debits your account on your next payday.

   If you are being told they are scams, that is a lie. You have to know which payday loans suit your needs and know the terms before you sign the paperwork. Go somewhere like AdvanceAmerica a company that is excellent on payday loans. You would need to bring a copy of a recent pay stub, a recent bank statement, and a blank check(no starter checks) which is held like a security deposit, and your drivers license. Most places loan you up to 500.00 with a small fee which you would have to pay back in 2 wks or if you want to pay back earlier you can. If you dont pay it back on your due date they will deposit your check that you submitted for the amount due. There are no tricks to this process at all. I myslef used to get payday loans and I never had a problem it was very easy…but if are one of those people who write bad checks and dont pay back what you owe I wouldnt suggest it!!!

   I don’t believe they are a scam, however be sure to carefully read the fine print on the payback information. From what I understand it, the interest rates they charge on the balance are rediculously high so you end up losing money in the end. Just be careful.

   Behind on a monthly utility? No big deal for some, but for those who are just a short time from payday, the costs of paying for utility re-connects far outweigh the cost of most payday loans. So, why not just kite a check? Now you are facing the possibility of the check bouncing and having to pay the bounce fees (usually very high).
