Compared to other nations in the world, the United States wastes energy the most. Earth is dealing with extremely serious issues like pollution and the loss of the ozone layer so it is critical that we do our best to not squander energy and, in turn, save our planet.

In this article, we will address several things that we all can do to not only save energy but save a bit of money in the process. These are very simple things that anyone can do, you just need to make the choice to do them in order to help our planet and ourselves.

Just switching off the lights whenever you exit a room in your place is one of the easiest things you can do to not squander electrical energy. Many people tend to leave leave lights on in a room when they know they are going to come back, possibly in ten or fifteen minutes. Leaving the room empty with the lights switched on can lead to as much as thirty minutes or more of squandered energy if done several times a day. While 30 minutes doesn’t seem like much, bear in mind that millions upon millions of people do this everyday.  And each person who does this is squandering 182 hours of electricity every year for merely this one light. Let’s suppose we waste roughly 182 hours of energy per year and we multiply that by one million people. That’s 182 million hours of electrical power wasted every year coming from a light that is left on in one room.

Another thing that is causing electricity to be wasted is the habit a lot of people have of walking into a room and turning the lights on. Many of us do this without thinking. I catch myself doing it as well. The trouble is that even during the day when you don’t need the light because you’re getting more than enough sunlight to light up the room. However most people still come into a room and switch the lights on. And in addition to that, because of the natural light getting in, we have the tendency to forget we flipped the room light on in the first place and leave it on for the rest of the day. You need to make a calculated effort to leave the lights switched off if there is enough natural light in a room.

Another huge problem is people leaving things like TVs and radios on the whole day even if they are not in the same room. I yell at my mom whenever I visit and she has her TV on but isn’t even watching it. This is a great waste of electricity. Thus, if you’re not in the room, turn off the TV.

These are simply several easy things that can be done each day to help save electrical energy and to help save the planet by doing so. It only takes a little effort on your part to remember these things, and when each person makes a small effort, it can add up to make a great difference. It does not matter if you are using the search engines to find information regarding how to get rid of warts on hands home remedies, how can I get cheap car insurance or even how to get cheap car insurance as a new driver you can easily find it online.
